Cylinder Dry Sleeve Installation

Dry Sleeve Installation Services are used in many different application.  From trying to save a vintage block, to replacing FRM sleeves with ductile iron.   We have have the capiblities to bore out the old material, and press fit a new .125 thick universal sleeve from Melling Industries.  We then hone this sleeve to size with our cylinder hones.  

Includes

1.  Boring out of old sleeve ( roughly .125" in material"

2.  Press fit new Melling Sleeve

3.  Trim top of sleeve on Milling Machine (Will need final CBN Decking)

4.  Finish Hone Cylinders to Piston / Wall Clearance

5.  Includes Final Hot Tanking

Attention:  

1.  We can order thinner sleeves,  .125 is generally the thickest.

2.  You can find what is available on Mellings website.  

3.  This is not generally a service to strengthen cast iron blocks.  

4.  This service could add strength to some blocks, but that is not its intended purpose.   This is technically a repair service.
